CSAH 2 and 32 Street Reconstruction Project

PROJECT INTRODUCTION

Mille Lacs County and the City of Milaca are preparing for the reconstruction of CSAH 2 (2nd Street SW/SE) and CSAH 32 (3rd Avenue SW) in the City of Milaca. This approximately one mile stretch of roadway is in need of reconstruction to address the following issues:

  • Bituminous pavement is in poor condition and nearing the end of its useful life
  • Storm sewer upgrades are needed to improve drainage
  • Curb and gutter is in need of replacement
  • Water main improvements are needed to improve system-wide pressure and service
  • Tree impacts to sidewalk and curb line are causing tripping and drainage issues
  • Replace sidewalks and pedestrian ramps to improvement pedestrian access throughout the corridor
  • Meet State Aid roadway standards

PROJECT SCHEDULE

  • Project awarded to Landwehr Construction of St. Cloud, Minn. on June 2, 2020
  • Construction to start on Phase 1 and 2 of the project the week of June 22, 2020
  • Construction to start on Phase 3 and 4 anticipated to start after July 4, 2020
  • Construction completion date: October 2, 2020
