Notifications

Minnesota Statute 611A provides for the following rights for victims.

You have the right to be notified of:

  • Any appeals and the right to attend if there are oral arguments
  • Changes in the schedule of court proceedings if notified to testify
  • Content of any plea bargain agreements
  • Escape and apprehension of the offender from prison or other custodial institution
  • Filing of a civil commitment petition and the outcome
  • Final disposition of the case
  • Offender's petition to have case records expunged (sealed and kept confidential.)
  • Release of the offender from prison or other custodial institutions or transfer to a less secure facility
  • Sentence modifications
