Inmate Information
An inmate is seen at 11 a.m. for their first court appearance. Court is held Monday through Friday, with the exception of County recognized Holidays. A bail amount is set at this appearance.
Bail Process
Bail may be supplied via a bail bonds agent or by paying cash. Bail is to be brought to the Jail 24 hour door for the exact amount of bail.

You can locate phone numbers for bail agents in the yellow pages of the local phone book or by searching online.
Inmates housed at the Mille Lacs County Jail are given the opportunity to participate in a number of activities. Inmates are encouraged to participate in activities but are not required. Examples of the activities provided include the following:
- Art contests
- Bingo
- GED/ABE classes
- Gym
- Library
- Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
- Parenting classes
- Teen Challenge
- Various church programs
Vending Machines & the Canteen
Inmates have access to vending machines on a daily basis. They also have the opportunity to purchase items from the inmate canteen on Mondays and Fridays.
Examples of items available from canteen are:
- Additional food items not found in vending machines
- Greeting cards
- Mailing envelopes
- Writing and drawing paper
- Etc.
