To provide quality law enforcement, custodial, and court-related services to all persons within Mille Lacs County, and to perform all duties mandated by the Constitution of the United States of America and the State of Minnesota in a professional, ethical, and cost-efficient manner.
There are two divisions of the Sheriff's Office that dedicate most of their time supporting the officers themselves to that they can serve Mille Lacs County.
The Chaplain is a division of the Sheriff's Office focused on giving the officers the support they need as people in dealing with the risks and obligations to their role in the community. Donations to the Chaplaincy program can be made by contacting the Sheriff's Office.
Special Emergency Response Team (SERT)
Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), is a supportive division and is a tactical response to incidents involving extreme criminal activity, whether it be capturing a high profile felon or conducting a drug bust. The SERT team also specializes in crisis negotiations.
