Permits
Permit forms are to be downloaded, printed and forwarded to the Public Works Department to be processed. Permits that require a fee must be mailed or delivered with payment.
Permits are valid for roads and bridges under the jurisdiction of Mille Lacs County.
- Contact the Minnesota Department of Transportation for permits on a state or federal route within Minnesota.
- Contact individual townships or cities for permits on local streets.
- Permits may be faxed to 320-983-8383, mailed, or you can email Public Works.
- Payment is required before a permit can be processed. Fees are indicated on each permit.View the County’s Fee Schedule (PDF). Please follow instruction for submittal of payment for credit card / electronic check as indicated for each permit.

- Driveway Entrance
- House Moving Permits
- Mailbox Support Applications
- OD-OW
- Specific Service Sign Applications

- Change Use of Existing Driveway Permit
- Culvert Payment
- Extend Existing Driveway Permit
- House Moving Permits
- Mailbox (Installed)
- Mailbox (Material Only)
- New Driveway Permit
- Over Dimension Permits
- Over Weight Permits
- Specific Service Sign Applications (2020 Fee: $465 per installation)
Paying with Debit / Credit Card
To pay with a debit or credit card there is a service fee of 2.35% of the payment amount, with a minimum fee of $1.50. To pay using an e-check there is a service fee of $1.50. The service fee is charged by the County’s payment processor. Mille Lacs County does not receive any portion of this fee.
