Court Administration

Mille Lacs  County Court Administration received a new main line phone number effective Tuesday, March 21st after 1:00 p.m. The new number to reach Court Administration during business hours, Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. will be: 320-362-3200.

Mission Statement

To support the administration of justice and to promote public trust and confidence in the justice system by ensuring all cases are processed through the court in a professional, equitable and efficient manner. 

Structure

Minnesota has a State-funded and administered trial court system. The District Court, created by the Minnesota Constitution, is a court of general jurisdiction and handles the following types of cases:

  • Child protection
  • Child support
  • Civil
  • Conciliation (small claims)
  • Criminal
  • Family
  • Juvenile
  • Probate
  • Traffic

Mille Lacs is one of the ten District Courts located in the Seventh Judicial District. It is served by three judges chambered in Milaca. 

Responsibilities

The Court Administrator's Office is responsible for managing the daily administrative and support operations of the court and for processing the various cases that are filed in Mille Lacs County District Court. The office is also responsible for collecting all court fees and fines, management of the jury process and notification of all hearing dates scheduled before the Judges.
