Recording of Notary Public Commission for Mille Lacs County residents must be done at the Auditor-Treasurer's Office.

Send Notary Commission card from Office of the Secretary of State.
On the lines provided on the commission, include both a signature that exactly matches the name appearing on the notary commission, as well as a signature in the style normally used to sign. Both signatures need to be notarized on the same commission page.
Include a separate piece of paper with both of the notary’s signatures, as presented on the Notary Commission certificate.
Check or money order should be made payable to Mille Lacs County for $20.
After you have received your Certificate of Ordination or Credentials of Licensing, you are required to file them with any county in Minnesota prior to performing marriage ceremonies. If mailing in the documents, please also complete the Certificate of Filing form (PDF).
