Economic Relief Grant Program

The purpose of the Mille Lacs County COVID-19 Economic Relief Grant is to provide temporary working capital support to local small businesses and individuals adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic including any business interruption caused by a required closure. Funding for the program comes from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

Businesses and individuals are strongly encouraged to apply for all other available COVID-19 related funding such as the Small Business Administration Economic Injury Disaster Loan, the Paycheck Protection Program, the Minnesota Small Business Guarantee Program, Pandemic Unemployment Assistance Program, etc.  Businesses and individuals applying for funds through these programs are still eligible to receive a grant from the County, but may not use County grant funds for eligible expenses covered by other Local, State or Federal funds.

Eligible applicants may request up to $10,000 in grant assistance based upon need. The minimum grant request that will be considered is $1,000. Actual grant awards will be based on number of employees impacted, gross revenue loss, and available funding. Please see the Economic Relief Grant guidelines for additional information on eligible businesses and individuals.

Please thoroughly read the grant guidelines to determine program eligibility for both businesses and individuals. Completed applications should be emailed to Paper applications will not be accepted. Completed digital applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on October 2, 2020 to be considered.
